Athletics Program at T’siya Day School

At T’siya Day School, we believe in the importance of physical fitness and the value of teamwork. Our athletics program aims to foster a love for sports, promote a healthy and active lifestyle, and provide a platform for our students to develop important skills both on and off the field.

Currently, our school offers cross country as the primary athletic activity for students in grades K-5. Cross country is an exciting sport that combines endurance, discipline, and perseverance. It is a perfect introduction to competitive sports and allows students to challenge themselves while having fun.

Benefits of Cross Country

Physical Fitness: Cross country running is an excellent way for students to stay active and improve their overall fitness levels. The sport involves running over various terrains, which helps build stamina, cardiovascular endurance, and muscular strength.

Teamwork and Sportsmanship: While cross country is an individual sport in terms of performance, it also emphasizes teamwork and sportsmanship. Our athletes learn the value of supporting and encouraging their fellow runners, creating a positive and supportive team environment.

Goal Setting and Personal Growth: Cross country provides an opportunity for students to set personal goals and work towards achieving them. Whether it's improving their running time, increasing their endurance, or conquering challenging courses, our athletes develop a sense of accomplishment and gain valuable life skills such as determination, resilience, and self-discipline.

Mental Well-being: Engaging in physical activity has numerous mental health benefits. Cross country helps reduce stress, increase focus and concentration, and improve overall well-being. It also instills a sense of self-confidence and boosts self-esteem as students witness their personal progress throughout the season.
